Hungary and back again

Sylvia and I are the only two North Americans. And North Americans can only stay in Romania for up to 3 months and then they have to leave. So what we had to do is take the bus for 7 hours and go across to the Hungarian border, get our passports stamped, get off that bus, wait 45 mins for anouther bus, go back across the border and get our passports stamped again, and then have anouther 7 hour trip back to the city that is near our school. The most exciting thing that hapenned is that I almost got left behind bc I was one of the last ones to go to the bathroom and then I went to the store to buy some food and the bus started to leave without me, so Sylvia quickly ran in to get me... that would have been scary. It was so eventful that this is the only picture that we took. So now I can say that I have been to Hungary, but technically only for an hour. Does that still count?

Long...Hair!

This is my roommate Alesea. When I first came here I had no idea that her hair was this long bc she usually wore it up in a bun. Then when she had let her hair down in front of me for the first time I was shocked! I haven't seen a girl with that long of hair for so long. Here in the picture she had asked me to just cut a couple inches but I wanted to cut more.... lol!

Haystacks....Almost

So me and the American Sylvia , were really craving Haystacks so one Sunday we got help from another American lady and attempted to make them. In the end Sylvia and I thought that they were pretty close to the real thing and we thought that it tasted good!… but we were the only ones and all of the Europeans thought that they were so gross and hardly ate any. Different culture, different food, and different taste buds!

* For those of you who aren't Adventist, Haystacks are like a taco salad but better!

Pizza!

So awhile ago I was really missing my favorite food:PIZZA. So I snuck a frozen pizza into the kitchen and cooked it and then took it up to my room. I was so excited to eat it and boy did it live up to it's goodness. That was the best a pizza has ever tasted!

Toliet paper

So while being here I have been able to experience many different types of toliet paper and some of them...not so pleasant.
I remember my first day in Romania and I used some that smelled like straberries and I thought that it was the coolest thing. We don't have any that smell at home do we?
And then there is also this cheaper stuff that feels rough like paper towel which is about one ply. And the craziest one that I have seen here had holes and it was basically less than half a ply. That is when I was really missing toliet paper from home. But some is always better than none right?
My favorite one that I have discovered is: 3 ply peach scented. It is so soft and it smells so good I want to eat it!

Home From Bucharest

Once I arrive in Bucharest I was so exhausted and I really didn’t want to be in Romania again. Alina’s (my roommate from the school) brother picked me up from the airport and then took me home. Then I met Gavrail, another colleague that was also going to go back with us. I then fell asleep as soon as I laid on the couch. Alina got home after my nap and it was good to see her. I had bath bc I knew I wouldn’t get one again for a long time since we don’t have bathtubs at the school and I very much enjoyed it.
This is an elevator that 2 people can barely fit in to and it was so ghetto and old I was praying that it wouldn’t stop and that I wouldn’t get stuck inside.

This is Alina’s cousins and niece that I met before I went to England. They are such a kind family and I really liked them. They spoke English and I liked them even more for that.

Here in the pink my roommate Alina.

In the morning we got up early and then waited Adi who would take us the 6 hour drive to the school.

Our sweet ride!

Adi took us the see the second largest building in the world.

This is the people’s house.

This is Adi and Gavrail.

Here are some of the things in Bucharest…

I really wish I could have gone inside…

This is Dana, one of the doctors at the Health Center beside us and she also came on our journey back.

Just moving some poop off the sidewalk.

Anyone hungry? Lol

With 5 peoples’ things we weren’t sure how we would fit everything in.

There wasn’t enough room in there for me.

Ready to roll!

I love ADIDAS!

The only restaurant that we have at home that I have seen here.

I’m ready to nap!

I tried to sleep but only could a little bit of the way. That thing is my noise is Vicks that was helping to unplug my nose.

We drove through the mountains and it was super beautiful.

Pee stop!

Stretch stop

Yah! There was snow!

The boys started a snowball fight but I didn’t join in bc I wasn’t wanting to get wet.

As soon as we got to the school I hugged a couple people, went up to my room, looked around and saw that I was home. But my heart was still in England and I would love to go back sometime.

London-England

Took the train to London in the morning at 7am and I was so exhausted and sad that I was leaving… (tear!)
I got to London in 4 hours and then I walked for an hour looking for my hostel and once I finally found it I dropped my stuff off there and went to go tour. They had this special bus tours that you pay for and this double decker bus takes you around the city and talks about the history and what not and you can get on and off as often as you want.

This is at the beginning of my tour. It was so cold though bc it was so windy on the top but that was the only place to get good pictures.

Here are the things that I saw:

You would think that they would put a nicer looking flag up.

Yeah Canada!

ALBERTA!

Big Ben

The London Eye

The London Bridge

When I first saw these signs by the sidewalk I just laughed. But they do get so many tourists from everywhere and myself being one I always looked the wrong way. So hopefully the tourists in London won’t get run over.

This was my home for the night

Me in my room almost ready for bed after an exhausting day.

This is Katherine from Hong Kong who was in my room, she was super nice!

After sleeping only about 3 hours I headed to the tube and took it to the airport.

After another 2 hour plane delay I was up in the air again.

I didn’t have anyone beside me, I could get up and go to the bathroom as freely as I wanted to, it was sweet!

Goodbye England, it's been GRAND!
